Who runs this site

This website and the podcast The Making Of Hosted By Jack Pitts are run by Jack Pitts personally. They are not run by a company. When this policy says "I," "me," or "we," it means Jack Pitts.

The short version

• This site has no forms. If you email me, for example to ask to be a guest or about press, I get whatever you choose to put in that email.
• I use it only to read your email and reply to you.
• I never add you to a mailing list, and I never sell or rent your information. There are no ads on this site.
• This site does not set its own cookies or use tracking analytics.
• Some things on the site, like the podcast players and fonts, load from other companies, and those companies have their own privacy policies.

What I get when you email me

Guest requests and press inquiries reach me only by email that you choose to send to jack@saltcreekadvisory.com. The "Email me about being a guest" and "Request an interview" buttons just open a draft in your own email app; nothing is sent until you press send, and nothing is sent through this website.

I get whatever you put in the email, plus what every email carries, such as your email address, your name as your email app shows it, and the time you sent it. The guest draft suggests a few lines (your name, company and role, a website or LinkedIn link, and a few sentences about your story), but what you include is up to you.

Cloudflare, which hosts this site, processes IP addresses as part of delivering every page, like any web host.

How I use it

I use what you send only to read your email and reply to you. It is never added to a mailing list, sold, rented, or used for advertising.

How it is stored

Your email stays in my email inbox, which is hosted by my email provider. I keep it only as long as it is useful for considering your request and following up. If you ask me to delete it, I will delete it from my inbox. Copies held by my service providers are removed under their own retention schedules.

Service providers

A few companies help run this site and handle information on my behalf:

• Cloudflare hosts the website.
• My email provider stores the emails I receive.

Cookies, analytics, and other companies' services

This site does not set its own cookies, does not store anything in your browser, and does not use tracking analytics.

Some parts of the site load from other companies when you open a page. Like any web request, these let those companies see your IP address and basic browser information, and they are covered by their own privacy policies:

• Podcast players. Episode pages and the homepage show embedded Spotify or Apple Podcasts players. These load from Spotify or Apple when the page is opened and may set cookies or collect data, especially when you press play.
• Fonts. The site's fonts load from Google Fonts.
• The latest episodes. To check for brand new episodes, the homepage asks Apple's podcast directory for the show's public podcast feed and then loads that feed from the show's podcast host (Riverside). If the feed cannot be loaded directly, your browser may request it through public relay services (allorigins.win, corsproxy.io, or codetabs.com). Those services may see your IP address like any web request. Nothing you type or send to me is ever sent this way.
• Links to other platforms. Links to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, and other sites take you to those platforms, which have their own policies and may set cookies once you get there. Share buttons on episode pages are plain links; nothing is sent to those platforms unless you click.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent me information, email me and I will delete it.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct, or delete the information you sent me. Just email jack@saltcreekadvisory.com. I will respond within 30 days.

People in some places have additional privacy rights under local law. I honor applicable requests.

Security

I take reasonable steps to protect the information you send, such as sending it over encrypted connections and limiting who can see it. No method of sending or storing information is perfectly secure, so I cannot promise absolute security.

Changes to this policy

If I change this policy, I will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
